At McHenry Counseling, we believe every person has inherent worth and the right to feel seen, heard, and safe. We welcome clients of all races, ethnicities, nationalities, languages, immigration experiences, religions and spiritualities (including no faith), genders, gender identities and expressions, sexual orientations, relationship structures, neurotypes, abilities, body sizes, ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, and family constellations. We also honor the experiences of veterans, caregivers, people impacted by the justice system, and those living at the intersections of multiple identities.
Our commitment is practical, not just aspirational. We provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+-affirming care; invite you to share your name and pronouns and use them accurately; and strive to reduce barriers to care through telehealth options and reasonable accommodations. We continuously learn—through training, supervision, consultation, and client feedback—so our care reflects humility, curiosity, and respect. If we miss the mark, we want to know and we will work to repair.
Our goal is simple: to offer a therapeutic space where you can bring your full self, explore your story without judgment, and move from surviving to thriving—on your terms.
